Hello!!! My name is Mary Hastings and this is my nineteenth year of teaching. I have experience in teaching Kindergarten, First, and Second grade! I love teaching the primary grades because it is a time of excitement, wonder and a lot of growth.
I grew up in Colorado and earned my undergrad in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. I then earned my teaching certificate through a Masters program at the University of Colorado at Denver. I have taught in three states, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas. I moved back to Colorado in the year of 2010 and have been here ever since.
I myself have my own fourth grader (Jack). Jack is an amazing boy who keeps me busy with soccer, baseball, art, hiking and fun adventures. We have a dog named Rufus that we adopted from moms and mutts. He is adorable… Shar- Pei, Lab, Boxer mix.
My favorite things to do besides being with my son and teaching are... Yoga, I have recently finished my 200 hour yoga teacher training through Sumits Yoga! I have also started Yoga camps for children call Yogi's for Life. I began these after school camps last year and I continued teaching them into this summer. I also love to teach art camps after school! I love hiking, traveling, and being with my friends and family. I feel so very blessed, and honored that I get to share your child with you this year. I truly look forward to the amazing year ahead.
