10/24/21

Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a great break!!! I loved spending time with my family and enjoying the amazing fall weather!

When we come back we will celebrate Halloween and I have planned a fun week of activities. In November I will meet with all families for fall conferences. I will be holding my conferences through a virtual Google Meet or a phone conversation. I will send more information and a Sign Up Genius this week.

Friendly Reminders/"Happenings"

Halloween PartyOn Friday the 29th we will celebrate Halloween as a class. Your child is invited to wear their costume to school. We will have a parade outside for parents/families to join us. We will begin our kindergarten parade at 9:20. We will walk through the front doors and walk towards the back of the school to the playgrounds. After our parade, the kids and I will come back to the classroom for our party. Thank you in advance for your class party donations, help, and food! I will send pictures. :)

Please pack a change of clothes if your child will want to change out of some or part of the costume.

November Conferences:I am so proud of the kiddos and how much growth they have made since August! I will meet with all families to discuss your child's progress and future goals/learnings. I will be sending out a link for you to pick a date/time to meet with me via a Google Meet. All of my conferences will be done virtually. I will be holding conferences the week of November 8th. I will have morning, afternoon, and evening times available. I look forward to meeting and celebrating your child!
Reading Homework:On Monday I will include a paper book we read in class. The kids were practicing the sight word "the." They are practicing pointing to each word as they read (not skipping or adding words) and writing and reading our sight words. These books can stay at home. You can save them and use them as a familiar read with your student.
Fun Activity Link to store books from school. (This is optional)

Star Student: Each week I will pick a student (at random) to be our Student of the Week. When it is your student's turn, I will send home a notebook with all the information you will need. Thanks so much!

Room Parent News: Halloween Party
Hi everyone!
Thank you so much for your donations to your kiddos classroom. So many generous parents!
We’re currently planning out the party and thanks to you they’ll have plenty of snacks, treats, drinks, games (bingo, witch hat ring toss), fun decorations and goodies to take home for trick or treating or whatever they’d like (stickers, glow sticks etc).
Bummed that we as parents can’t join but I’m sure they’ll have a blast with Mrs. Petau and their friends.

Email me with any questions or requests. Have a great fall break!
