This week in music!

This week, kindergarten will review a game from the beginning of the year. Then, they will learn a new game. We will also explore the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” through a video as well as through instruments.

First Grade

First grade will learn two new games this week. They will also learn a new song on xylophones. Finally, they will explore form through a composition activity as well as parachutes.

Second and Third Grade

Both second and third graders will be learning about the different instruments in the orchestra. They will do this through online simulations as well as class-wide games. We will also review a game from earlier in the year to focus on our steady beat. Finally, the students will have the opportunity to share their music through a talent show on Friday!

Fourth and Fifth Grade

Fourth and fifth graders will be completing their own “March Madness” brackets that revolve around eight different musical genres. We will explore each genre as well as the history of the songs that are chosen to represent that genre. They will also be learning two new games. Finally, fourth and fifth graders will be having a talent show on Friday.
